Clinical Competency 9: Evidence-Based Veterinary Medicine

"A Revised Evidence Pyramid for Veterinary Clinical Resources" 2015

Search Tip: limiting to .edu to find Extension publications or .gov to find government publications

Extension specialists' role is to provide quality information on herd health for farmers and veterinarians.

To quickly find quality information from Extension use Google Advanced and limit to .edu or .gov domains

Step 1: Choose keywords to search.  Example: calves vaccination

Step 2:  Use Google Advanced search to limit to .edu domains.  Limiting to .gov domains might also be useful to find USDA materials.

If you get too much, try limiting to latest year only.

Caveats:  Google returns results based on page hits and what it knows about searching activity on the machine.  Results vary by machine and day and searcher so searches can't be replicated.
