UT AgResearch and Extension Support

This guide is designed to help faculty and staff of the UT Extension Service gain a better understanding of the resources and services available through the University Libraries.

Accessing Materials

Net ID and Password - Your key to online library resources!

Your NetID is the "name" part of your University email address "". If you don't know your University email address, search for yourself in the UT Online Directory. (Link opens in new tab.)

Your email address will be displayed. To remotely access the Libraries' electronic databases, your campus must be listed as "Knoxville," regardless of your actual location. If you need help with this step, call 974-7338 or email Pendergrass Library,

UT Libraries' Catalog

Connect to the UT Libraries' online catalog. (Link opens in new tab.)

Access to the University Libraries online catalog is free and available to everyone. The Library Catalog provides call number, location(s) and circulation status (checked in or checked out) for library materials. For UT patrons, the "My Account" feature in the online catalog will allow you to see what you have checked out, renew materials, and place holds online. Please contact the library for more information about checking your library record.

Access UT Subscriptions Easily

Libkey Nomad is a tool that provides one click access to PDFs. The browser plugin for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox pulls data from our UTK library resources and Open Access resources to provide you quick access to full text content. LibKey Nomad is offered by Third Iron. Here is the link to download the extension. Link opens in a new tab.

Google Scholar

You can view whether we have any of the articles you find in Google Scholar in our databases. Google Scholar will be able to link to our resources from their search page. Go to settings from the Google Scholar homepage, click on "Library Links" and enter "University of Tennessee - FullText@U TLibraries" in the search box.
