6. During the course of the rotation, we will be discussing each of the following clinical cases.   By the end of the rotation you will be expected to be familiar with the history, physical exam findings, differentials, radiographic findings, ECG findings, echocardiographic findings, and management of the following diseases:

  1. Chronic degenerative valvular disease (Mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation)
  2. Dilated cardiomyopathy
  3. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  4. Ventricular arrhythmias
  5. Supraventricular arrhythmias
  6. Heartworm disease
  7. Pericardial diseases
  8. Congenital heart defects—patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), pulmonic stenosis (PS), subaortic stenosis (SAS), and ventricular septal defects (VSD)
  9. Cardiac medications—uses, metabolism, side effects, drug interactions, etc.
