Narrative Medicine Workshop
The Narrative Medicine Workshop, hosted by the UTK Department of Africana Studies in partnership with the Knox Birth Equity Alliance, was held on Monday, April 15, 2024. This workshop introduced the practice of Narrative Medicine and was led by Jodie Simms-MacLeod, Midwifery Director at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Attendees participated in a reflective writing exercise and discussion surrounding a Black woman artist's work on Black maternal health and wellbeing.
