Working Papers

Many organizations offer economic commentary and analysis through working papers on their website as well. Below are links to some popular ones:

  • EconPapers
    "World's largest collection of on-line Economics working papers, journal articles and software."
  • Fed in Print 
    Explore research and publications from across the U.S. Federal Reserve System.
  • Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Working Papers 
    Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis working papers are preliminary materials circulated to stimulate discussion and critical comment.
  • IDEAS Working Papers
    IDEAS is the largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics and available freely on the Internet. Based on RePEc, it indexes over 4,700,000 items of research, including over 4,300,000 that can be downloaded in full text.
  • International Monetary Fund Publications
    This series contains a well-rounded groups of publications such as world economic outlook reports, financial stability reports, working papers, etc.
  • National Bureau of Economic Research Working Papers
    New research by NBER affiliates, circulated prior to peer review for discussion and comment. NBER Working Papers may not offer policy recommendations or normative judgments about policies, but may report analytic results on the effects of policies. The NBER distributes more than 1,200 Working Papers each year.
  • RAND Corporation Reports
    "RAND is a research organization that develops solutions to public policy challenges to help make communities throughout the world safer and more secure, healthier and more prosperous." While not exactly working papers, there are a lot of publications related to economics, policy, etc.
  • Wharton Financial Institutions Center Working Papers
    At the University of Pennsylvania. Papers in recent years are all available full-text online. Papers focus on financial policy and regulation.
