MRI-Simmons Catalyst: Build a Search--set Columns and Rows

Columns

Firstly, put the product and brand variables in the column, not row, fields.

To choose your product and brand variables, you can use the search bar on the top. For example, if you are searching for brands of wireless phones.

Type in the text box with wireless phones

Select All from the options below the search box, and then
Choose the most appropriate folder from the options that appear below. (In this case, select the Telecom folder)

Once you open the CELL/SMARTPHONES/TABLETS folder, you can select the option CELL PHONES/SMARTPHONES. You will then see survey questions listed in the section.  Now you can highlight and drag the survey question you want into the columns box on the right side of the screen.

Rows

Secondly, we put the demographic/pyschographic variables in the row, not column, fields.

To choose your demographic/psychographic information, you can use the search bar on the top, or simply browse the LIFESTYLES (DEMOGRAPHICS) or LIFESTYLE STATEMENTS folders.

As an example, we are interested in the ages of smart phone users. So we will open the LIFESTYLE (DEMOGRAPHICS) folder, and then open the DEMOGRAPHICS(PERSONAL INFORMATION) sub-folder,and select AGE. This brings up several options in the center column on the screen. For instance, in this case the 18, 19, 20, 21, 22-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-49 ... 50+ categories - and drag and drop them into the Rows box on the right.
