NAVLE News

Please note a few important changes and reminders about the NAVLE Exam:

June 16, 2020: from Claudia Kirk to Class of 2021:

  1. The NAVLE test window has been expanded to September 1 – Dec. 31 to accommodate social distancing.
  2. Students will receive their invitation to sign up throughout the summer, likely after your application is competed and the State notifies ICVA that you have completed the preliminary state application process.
  3. You must have approval from your service chief to take leave on the day of your request – Ask BEFORE you select a date.
    1. Only 1 student per day off per service
    2. First come first serve  (if you confirm a date but others are before you, you will be required to change)
  4. Any student with accommodations will require 2 days of leave, those without will need 1 day of leave.
    1. NAVLE leave is an excused absence.
  5. Students will be provided with 1 paid NAVLE practice exam, beginning August.  (information to follow)

NAVLE Prep

The NAVLE site https://www.icva.net/navle/  contains free and for-a-fee prep materials that are more relevant  than anything in the Pendergrass library collections, except the CD set and flashcards listed in the two boxes after the NAVLE prep information below.

  • About NAVLE prep books in the Library collecitions--  Dr. Claudia Kirk  4/17/2017:  "The exam was extensively rewritten around 2013-2014 and the earlier texts (in the library collection) may NOT reflect the content or style of the exam."
