The Publication Cycle: Guide to Library Support

From creating new journals to building your bibliography to archiving your publications, the UT Libraries offer a host of tools and services to help researchers throughout the publication and research cycle.

Help with the Literature

Your Subject Librarian can help you with literature reviews in many ways:

  • Determining subject headings and keywords to use in a search
  • Identifying newly-subscribed databases, or setting up database trials, that are relevant to your research area
  • Creating saved searches to quickly find new literature on your topic
  • Establishing journal/table of contents alerts to stay up-to-date with new developments and publications in your field

Subject librarians are available to meet with any researcher.  Email your subject librarian to set up an appointment.

Citation Management Software

Zotero and EndNote are two well-known citation management software programs.  They will help you keep track of the literature you've found and save time when assembling your bibliography.
