Digital Camcorders

  • Our top recommendation for shooting any type of video, especially dynamic (walk-around) video.

 

Digital SLR Cameras

  • Those equipped with 18—135 lenses are recommended for people looking to shoot walk-around photography (both close-ups and distance shots)
  • Those with 18—55 lenses are recommended for shooting portrait photography.
    • NOTE: The 18—55 lenses also work well for shooting videos of skits, interviews, or presentations from a fixed position, as when mounted on a tripod.

 

Point & Shoots

  • Basic digital cameras with automatic focusing. Good for ease of travel and can quickly take photos and 1080p HD video with little setup required.

 

GoPros

  • Compact, waterproof digital video cameras intended for use in active environments. They can be easily worn on the body with various mounts to capture dynamic first-person footage in up to 4K resolution.
