Special Collections and University Archives uses the Aeon system to register researchers and help them request materials. We ask that researchers register with Aeon in advance of their visit. You do not need to be affiliated with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to use the system.
The Aeon system offers many benefits to researchers. You will be able to:
- Register online to create an account prior to your visit (a one time process)
- Request appointments in the Reading Room to view materials
- Request Special Collections and University Archives materials in the Library Catalog and SCOUT, including Rare Books, University Archives, and Manuscripts collections, for both in-person visits and reproductions
- Track the status of requests and download reproductions
- Maintain a record of your requests so you have full citation information and can easily reactive a request if you need to see materials again
Detailed workflows can be found in this guide. Please contact us by email at special@utk.edu for assistance.
