Getting Started with Agriculture Research

Guidance on identifying a topic, effectively finding sources, and putting it all together for research assignments in Herbert College of Agriculture.

Types of Sources

Sources can be primary (such as first-hand accounts or original documents) or secondary (like interpretations or analyses). Some sources are scholarly (i.e., published in an academic source), some are peer-reviewed (scholarly sources that have been approved by other experts in that field), and some are popular (written for an everyday audience). The tools below can help determine which type of sources will meet the needs of your assignment.
