Special Collections

The University of Tennessee Archives and Special Collections supports the needs of researchers by preserving and making available rare books and manuscripts about the history of the University of Tennessee, the state of Tennessee, and the Southern Appalachian Region.  With the inclusion of the Modern Political Archives, the collection is comprised of approximately 15,000 linear feet of manuscripts  The collection also houses a rare book collection of over 60,000 non-circulating books. While not a genealogy library, special collection material may well contain information on individuals pertinent to your genealogical search.
