Getting Started in Business Overseas

Got questions about business conditions in a country you have identified a possible trading partner? Wondering what the export/import regulations are for China or Argentina? Are there risks to setting up a business overseas? Get answers in the sources listed below.

Market Research Library
Search for a country of interest, then select a report type, either the Country Commercial Guide or a Market Research Report. The first provides a country overview of business opportunities, the second has product/industry specific information for countries. Reports are prepared by U.S. government offices in each country.

IHS Markit Connect
Risk analysis for foreign nations, including coverage of economic, political, legal, tax, security, and operational conditions and factors. Also has analysis of current political and economic events.
