How do I obtain topographic maps?

 

  • Inexpensive Copies
    The University of Tennessee Map Services has topographic maps for the entire United States. We can make black and white photocopies of these maps for $2.50 each. This is a cheap way to get a map you won't have to worry about folding, tearing, writing on, or getting wet or dirty.

 

  • Borrowing Maps
    Most of the maps at the University of Tennessee Map Services circulate to university students, staff, and faculty for 28 days.

 

 

  • Mapping Software, GPS, and Paper Topographic Atlas/Gazetteers
    Map Services also has digital mapping software like DeLorme 3-D TopoQuads and Maptech Terrain Navigator that allow the user to download or print customized topographic maps. Data from Global Positioning System receivers can be downloaded to this software a nd displayed. Learn about borrowing a GPS receiver from Map Services. Map Services has the paper Delorme Atlas and Gazetteers for nearly every state available for circulation.
