What ACR Does

Acquisitions and Continuing Resources is organized into small teams.  Each of these teams performs duties related to our core functions of acquiring, renewing, borrowing, lending, establishing, and maintaining access to collections materials.

  • Resource Acquisitions – processes all new orders and non-big deal package renewals regardless of material type.
  • Resource Management – is responsible for the maintenance of resources.  This includes tracking changes and confirming renewal of big deal packages, government documents, establishing and troubleshooting electronic resource access, setting up trials, licensing materials, and coordinating vendor led training sessions.
  • Resource Sharing – oversees interlibrary services including the borrowing of materials from other institutions and the lending of materials from the UTK Libraries.  This team is also responsible for providing document delivery services for all Distance Education students.

The department works closely with many units in the library, including Cataloging & Metadata; Enterprise Systems; Assessment Programs & Collections Strategy; and the Learning and Research Engagement Librarians.
