Dog Health Page

Our pets are important to us, and as members of our family, they deserve good medical care.

The Pet Health pages are designed to serve as a resource for pet owners to learn about health topics and as a supplement to good veterinary care.  Please ask your vet first about any medical questions for your pet.  This page focuses on topics relating to information about owners, dog wellness, age-based care, parasites, and behavior.

According to the veterinary insurance provider VPI, the top 10 medical conditions for 2010 are listed below.

Need more information about one of the top 10 or about another disease or condition, after you've visited the vet? See Helpful Links Box to left.

If you search the Web, limit your search to .edu domains and/or use the guide (Be a cyberskeptic!) in the box to the right to evaluate the information you find.

Click here to find a list of the most costly veterinary procedures.  Visit your veterinarian regularly to find out how to prevent them.
